INGREDIENTS
1-1/4 cups Maple Syrup
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
2 cups water
2 Tablespoons butter
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1/3 cup butter
3 cups chopped apples (peeled first)
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tablespoons butter
Whipped Cream
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan, mix the syrup, cornstarch and water. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 mins. Add 2 tablespoons butter then pour mixture into a 13x9 pan/dish.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar and baking powder. Cut in the 1/3 cup butter. Stir in apples. Stir in milk and vanilla until just mixed. Drop by spoonful over the syrup mixture Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over batter. Dot with remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Bake @ 350º for 50—55 mins. Serve warm topped with whipped cream. Serves 8.
